  • You need to click on the .mdb tab in the monitor window to view the statistics that correspond to the packet capture you are taking.
  • You can choose to monitor Network Packets and Statistics, just the Network Packets or just the Statistics.
  • You can filter packets, for both packet and statistics captures, at capture time by setting a filter in the Capture Settings configuration tab.
  • You can choose which header fields to display in the packet summary window by selecting them in the Headers configuration tab or by right clicking the mouse in the packet summary window.
  • You can export the packets to a text or csv file using the Export command in the File menu.
  • You can drill down on the IP, application protocol, network protocol and MAC traffic statistics by clicking on a specific entry in the table or by right clicking the mouse button and selecting "show details".
  • You can right-click the mouse button to go back one level when you are drilling down on statistics.
  • You can query a WhoIs server to find out the registrant of an IP address, that is communicating on your network, by right clicking on the IP address in the IP traffic statistics page.

  • You can disable automatic IP address resolution in the Statistics capture by turning the option off in the Statistics Settings configuration tab.
  • You can click the left arrow button in the toolbar to go back to the previous level when drilling down in the statistics windows.
  • You can search packets on a live packet capture for strings, IP addresses or hexadecimal codes by clicking CTRL-F on the live capture window.
  • Right clicking in the packet summary window of a stopped packet capture will give you a range of instant filters that can be applied.
  • You can view all packets with the same IP address as that of either the source or destination IP of the currently displayed packet, by right-clicking the mouse to select this option.
  • You can move directly to a packet with a protocol error in it by clicking CTRL-E in the packet capture window even while the packet capture is running.
  • When a protocols is running on ports other than its well known port or ports, you must add these port numbers in the ports tab for the packets to be parsed correctly.
